2021 Reserve Syrah
Tasting notes
A youthful, yet remarkably elegant wine. Prominent notes of vibrant red fruit are complemented by a robust layer of smoked meats, leather, dark chocolate, and graphite. The palate presents a well-structured profile with invigorating acidity and reveals nuanced flavors of raspberries, blueberries, vanilla, and slate. The finish is lengthy and characterized by pronounced tannins. This wine exhibits excellent aging potential.
Production notes
Primary fermentation occurred in stainless steel open-top tanks. A co-fermentation of mature Syrah and immature Grenache Blanc was conducted to achieve synergy in co-pigmentation and acidity. Fifty percent of the Syrah was fermented using whole berries, with the remainder being destemmed and crushed. Grenache Blanc was introduced as whole clusters. Maturation of this wine took place in entirely new French oak large-format puncheons for a duration of twenty months.
