2022 Malbec
Tasting notes
This wine exhibits a deep purple hue, with aromatic notes of violets, blackberries, tobacco, and red plums presented in the glass. It offers a dry mouthfeel complemented by a vibrant acidity and minerality, culminating in an exceptional, lingering finish. The palate reveals concentrated dark fruit and chocolate flavors, indicating a high-intensity wine with considerable aging potential.
Production notes
Stainless steel, open-top tank fermentation was conducted slowly. The wine was aged for 21 months, utilizing 50% new French oak and the remaining portion in second and third-use French oak barriques. The Malbec grapes were harvested at 23.5 brix, exhibiting optimal acidity levels and phenolic maturity. These conditions were deliberately achieved through meticulous canopy management practices. Yield reduction was implemented at veraison, resulting in 2.5 tons per acre with one cluster retained per fruitful shoot.
